What is a Doula?
A Doula is an experienced woman who will provide you (and your partner) with the emotional, moral & practical support before, during and after childbirth. She will be there to nurture you – the mum-to-be – through every stage of your baby’s entry into the world, and beyond.
The word “Doula” comes from the Greek, and means “servant woman or caregiver”
● Findings show that having a Doula present at a birth…
● Shortens first-time labour by an average of 2 hours
● Decreases the chance of caesarean section by 50%
● Helps fathers participate with confidence
● Increases success in breastfeeding

I passionately believe that giving birth should be a fulfilling and positive experience – a memory that will be cherished for ever. You will receive support during your pregnancy, and encouragement, re-assurance and non-medical advice and comfort during your labour and the birth. If baby’s Dad is to be with you, I will help him
to help to you.
Together, we can make your birthing experience positive and joyful.
