During labour and the birth.
I will be with you throughout this time. I won’t have any time-frames, you, and your partner if he is present, will have my undivided attention until your baby arrives. I will be able to help you with breathing techniques, and positions that may assist you. If necessary, I can help to explain anything about which you are unclear. Ideally, I would like to stay until your baby’s first feed, at which time I will leave you to enjoy getting to know your addition!
When you get home:
I will pay at least one visit to you, and make sure you have settled back into home and enjoying your new baby. We can talk about any feeding issues, or any other concerns you may have. And of course, I get to meet your baby in your home setting! In addition to the above, I am also able to provide a post-natal Doula service. This is an additional service and is charged at an hourly rate of £10. You may for example want further support with feeding, or just a little help with shopping and cooking. You may have other children who may need looking after for an hour or two, or you may wish to spend time with any other children and I can look after your newest family member. You may even just want to have a couple of hours to take a long soak in the bath and paint your nails! You will know there is someone there looking after your baby.
